Upparwala khush rakkhey, Aur bada aadmi banaye… A genuine wish of my wellbeing flew through the inch height gap of the car window as I rolled down to offer a little help to this Cisgender person, as late as midnight at a Park Street Signal the other day, while returning home after closing a long day at a Design Studio in Park Street, Kolkata.

Late in the night when body and mind were completely exhausted, these kind words brought me a smile, An incident of a few seconds reduced my tiredness. She was however still busy making her ends meet. Midnight didn’t matter.

Transgender folks have been deprived souls with no mistakes done by them. While the creator was so perfect making some, on the contrary made tremendous error creating others, and there is this lakhs and crores of so called perfect human beings who has left not even a single chance to harass these poor souls for years after years, ages after ages. We treated them worse than dogs.

Childhood days whenever I saw them had hid behind my Mum imagining they might kidnap me and take away. Also wondered why do they look different, a query of which continued for years in mind. Wondered who informs them the arrival of a baby in the family, why do they visit homes, take the baby on their laps, sing, dance and do a little celebration. Transgender community remained a mystery in mind but have realized over the years that they have an endless saga to tell to the society only if we decide to listen. These neglected souls sincerely need a touch of love. Needs immediate attention.

Shared below a youtube link of a Satyamev Jayate episode, conducted by Aamir khan some years back. Many of you may have watched it. Watch Simran’s story once again. It makes the heart tremble hearing how harsh can Society be on them. This cannot be the life one deserve.

Next time you see them at a signal, come close knocking your car window, please don’t turn your face. Good wishes are important.
